I get quite a difference, even on just a few thousand feet elevation change.
I make a 250 mile round trip each weekend. The trip there is almost exactly
2,000 ft up elevation change, the trip back 2,000 ft down. There is about a
10 mpg difference on the two. For example, the best MPG at around 55 mph max has been 80 and 70, with 80 mph obviously on the down elevation change and 70 on the up elevation change.
