Default Mouse problem

The plastic air ducts and passageways in the Insight must seem especially inviting and the cozy warmth of the greenhouse effect during the day must be why these little creatures want to set up house keeping in my car. Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep them out? They carry away the Decon mouse bait pellets and horde them in different places around the car. They seem to thrive on the stuff.

The only effective method I have found is to place 4 mouse traps under the hood baited with peanut butter. Place one trap inside the car in case they get past the 4 under the hood. Tie strings to them so you can find them when the mouse drags them away. They like to build a nest in the cowl located behind the plastic vent mesh under the hood. The build right around the air inlet duct for the heater. The air inlet is their route into the heater blower and beyond.

Put a few moth balls in a sock and toss it near the openings.

They like to save the Decon for later. I used a gel based bate that they couldn't carry away. That got'em... but not after they made a nice nest in the battery compartment.
