Default Heated rear screen element trouble!

Hey all,

I only have about two bars left that actually work on my screen - Does anyone know a way of repairing this? Don't really want to have to buy a new one

Thanks in advance,

o

Mine did the same thing. The end of "lines" burn because it is always on under 0 deg celcius. I bought some VersaChem 90130 kit on ebay, and repaint end of lines.

You have to apply paint for about 3 inches on the line, and go over the conductive border on the side of windows.

I have also tried the permatex kit. It does not last. Versachem is a 2 parts epoxy mixed with silver powder.

only a few of my lines work. The ones towards the bottom and that little window I believe.

Were you able to see damage to the lines? How did you know what to repaint?

Default Rear defogger

Was this kit very difficult to install? I did a little t/s today and the values were not what expected. I can definitely see discoloration on both sides of the glass where the metal conductor attaches and spreading out towards top and bottom. Does that issue also happen on the small rear window? Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

Y’all my rear defrost is out too except for those bottom 2 lines. Anyone else have the best repair ideas on fixing the defrost lines?

I did many tests. The only one that last is the epoxy base versachem repair kit. The regular (non epoxy) peel after a couple of weeks.

Based upon this thread, I've ordered and received this Versachem repair kit. Talonmike, is it only important to do the parts that look faded? I can't seem to see a different color on the lines. But I can see a difference on the border along the outsides. Looking at the kit last night, the outside packaging states that it is good for repairing up to 10" of lines. If I need to redo 3" on each line, this could take a lot of these kits.

I bought 4 kits. I did like 6 inches on each lines on both sides. In my case, all the end of lines were faded. Clean well with alcohol before.
