HELP honda is denying me the 10yr 157k mile ima warranty
Ok my car was checked by honda and they confirmed my battery computer is dead and possibly the battery as well. I was told when I purchased the car that it is under a 10yr 157k mile warranty for the ima computer and battery. The dealer and American Honda are saying tough luck now.... What can I do to fight this? This is completely unfair and I feel ripped off considering the warranty is the only reason I went with this one here and I have not owned it but a month.
1800-999-1009 american honda
My Vin JHMZE13783T000689
recall notice 06057 and 06027
Had same issue with my 03 with 90K - Honda dealer printed out the service bulletin that
clearly states the information of 10 yr 157k on IMA battery - is contingent on your INSERVICE DATE to the 10 yr timeframe - after much discussion was resolved in our favor; after corporate office was involved.
Also be aware they may be replacing with a reconditioned battery, meaning life expectancy not as great as original. Good luck!
Did you talk to AH directly, or is it just a statement passed on by the dealer.?
Willie

We got Honda customer service involved and even then they said it was 8/80 not 10/157. It was not until I started trying to contact the district manager, whose name I had obtained from a friend at Honda, that I finally got them to fully cover the cost of the of both the battery and the battery condition monitor. They seem to want to play the ignorant moron role to the "n"th degree. They even printed out service bulletin 06-057 for me and then still tried to deny coverage. Stick to your guns and eventually you will win out.
