Default Highbeams won't work

Whenever I go to turn my highbeams on or flash someone, my bulbs completly shut off. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Is this a common problem?

The bulbs are only a year old.

There was a recall on the Headlight switch some years ago.
Maybe someone will post the link.
The dealer should be able to run the Vin # and see if the recall was ever done.

Drudging up the past here, but I have a question I have not found an answer to. Does the combination light switch repair kit come with the actual switch? Based on the description I assume it does, but the switch itself goes for $66, while the kit that supposedly includes the same switch sells for $20. Is the kit all I need to purchase?

Default Recall due to low beam failure

http://rotordesign.com/insight/Safet...ightSwitch.pdf

the bulletin refers to failure of low beam, not high, high beam lighting remain operative, are we dealing with a single or a series of recalls to the headlight circuits?

Yes the OP has some different, but probably related issue with his high beams. I was just trying to find an old thread to add to instead of starting a new one. What I need to know is if all I have to buy is the kit 35012-S3Y-306 which says it includes the switch.

You are correct. 35012-S3Y-306 will be all you need. Sometimes you have to do more than just replace the switch, and this kit gives you the necessary items. I have bought two of these kits to fix my cars. One needed the additional items, the other did not.
