It doesn't matter what they say about the previous battery. If your in service date is less than 10 years and you've got less than 158k on it, then your battery is covered. I would call American Honda directly and find your in-service date first off.
today asking them what my service date was, and they said it was 6/3/03. So I pressed them as to why my batteries aren't under warranty per the service bulletin they put out in '06 (10 year and 157,000 mile). The lady left for a couple of minutes and came back saying the batteries are under warranty and as long as my car is under the mileage they would replace them. She also apologized for someone telling me the warranty on my present batteries was only one year. Thanks for everyone on this board who told me to keep on them. This is one board where everyone is really out to help each other. I just wish I had some knowledge about this stuff so I could help too. Anyway, thanks again. I plan on keeping my insight for a long time, so there will probably be more questions.
Congrats on pressing them and finally getting the right answer, erks me when the dealer feed their customers a line of bull. Knowledge is power and this forum has helped me more then just about anything else I've read on the web!
