Default door window seal / squeegee not working and letting lots of water in part #?

Correction: the parts are Under moulding
ORDER THESE
4 72410-S3Y-003 MOLDING ASSY., R. FR. DOOR $44.24
6 72450-S3Y-003 MOLDING ASSY., L. FR. DOOR $44.24

DO NOT ORDER THESE
021 72435-S3Y-003 seal, r. fr. door sill (lower) $25.62
022 72475-S3Y-003 seal, l. fr. door sill (lower) $25.62

When you roll down the windows on your car and there is this rubber thing that squeegees the water off and keeps it from flowing into your doors. Ok I know lots of cars have those things no longer working but is it bad to have them not working? Mine does not squeegee the window besides in 2 small places. Lots of water goes into the door this way. Should it be replaced?????

Also how do you get it off and replace it? I have a spare door but it won't budge. I don't know if the spare door one works but I want to try it.

Looks like you got the proper part number for the right side.

[Edit: Likely not, see following posts, this illustration is of the seal on the BOTTOM inside of the door frame.]
_______________
SEAL, R. FR. DOOR SILL (LOWER)-2002 Honda INSIGHT-72435-S3Y-003) can be found as reference #21 in illustration

I had a quick look in the body repair section of the factory repair manual pdf's and couldn't locate the section dealing with r&r of that part, nor in fact much to do with the door at all. Not to say it isn't there, but sometimes there are gaps in the info.

Seems like a good idea to try to test-replace the part from the spare door first, before springing for a new one. They run towards twenty bucks via online.
Not sure if the seal [and what i guess is a metal strip holding it to the door's window frame is nested into one corner of the door, and/or that part numbered 12 /17 has anything to do with securing it and needs off first. Lucky you have a spare to test with. best luck with it and ' hope that helps.

Look on the bottom of the door, I think there is a drain hole or two for water that gets in the channel.

I haven't heard or read of anyone replacing that piece.

I have a new set if interested, will sell at discount if you want. I ordered these on accident a few months ago, thought they were the black trim outer piece. They are #21 and 22 on the drawing. Since they are a 'special order' piece I couldn't send them back. PM me if interested.

Not sure about removal.

I've replaced about 10 of these. Remove the rear upper door exterior trim (3 Phillips screws), then slide a long narrow screwdriver under the top of the subject trim and pull up - hard. They pop out every time. You don't even need to remove the mirror. Can be R&R'd in 5 min per side.

I wish I knew you had a set uhtrinity, I'd have taken them for sure. I just got mine from Honda though . . .
