Default SRS warning light

Hi,

I've had an SRS warning light since I've had the car.

I should probably take it to Honda, but it'd piss me off if I have to spend a fortune replacing loads of components, if it was just a loose connection.

Does anyone know where I should be checking for loose connections or is there is a way to narrow down which component is faulty? (I have a ODBC C&C gauge now).

It should generate a code on an odb2 scanner. On the i2 for example disconnecting the passenger side indicator will trigger the warning. I wonder if something is just unplugged as a poor mans way to disable the system?

I've had the same issue and haven't had time to dig through the site looking for answers. My car needs to get inspected and i don't feel like paying a dealership to fix something i can do myself. I can't read any codes with my scangauge so i'm not quite sure where to start also.

Just reset it and see if it comes back. All you need is a paper clip (instructions are in the free Helms manual download on this site).

Hi Jeff,

Is that the Insight Resource Manual? (Link to here Download 2000-2006 Insight Service Manual PDF and Others)

Only that link is dead.

Any chance you could describe the procedure?

Here you go: How do you reset 'blink' codes / subcodes?

I think I've managed to extract the procedure from the manual.

SRS Reset Procedure.

Tried the procedure tonight (a jumper wire worked fine, desire the honda instruction saying otherwise). I now have no warning lights.

Thanks guys

Paper clips work, but it's hard to keep them in there while trying to count the flashes on the dash.

I used the red and black wires from a volt meter. I poked the pin ends into the plug and used the aligator clips to touch while watching the dash.
