You also have to understand the charger is not a magic bullet nor is it a guaranteed fix.

It might help for a long time or alternatively only for a short period or not at all if the battery has a serious fault.

Hi Peter,
I understand its not any gaurantee to fix my battery. I have a gut feeling the change in performance is imbalance though. Reading on the forum it would appear that I have a good chance of recovering the battery.
So far my charge indicator stays near full most of the time, only going down 4 bars. It definately used to go up and down as you would expect the first week I had the car.
cheers
Tim

Hi All,
Just for the record, my 32 mile a day commute has done a recal everyday this week, but for the first time did two today, and interestingly after the second recal the battery gauge only went up to 10 bars, where it was always charging up to and hovering around the top 4 or 5 before. But for the first time this week autostop didnt play up.
I guess the patterns of deterioration will vary with type of journeys made by people. My commute is quite hilly, so I get good charges down hill, but unfortunately not the assist I expect on the way back up. Im still managing 68 mpg average, where on this route in the one week I used the car in October, it was 73mpg. Perhaps a little indication of the IMAs fuel saving capability, but it could well be colder here atm too?
All this battery funny goings on makes my dull commute that much more interesting

Just for the record, I feel that the two recals yesterday, and the fact I decided to then force two negative recals when back home yesterday, since battery indicator was half.
Today on my commute, I have had no recal, no autostop funny goings on, and assist is much better - 9 or so bars in 5th for a much longer period on the hill where I have previously had to change down to 3rd to keep up 50 mph. MPG also looking better
So im thinking these little cars and their recals can do something to help rebalance a pack. I guess it depends on how far gone some cells are tho.
Good signs, or do these battery packs have a little swansong before they get much worse?
cheers
