Ok just checked some info in my Alldata you are aware that on the CVT the fuel pressure rergulator is in the fuel tank attached to fuel pump assembly. Now why do you suspect that the fuel pulse damper is bad? Do you have fuel in the vacuum hose to it? if not you really need to verify your fuel pressure by attaching 12mm fuel pressure adapter to your fuel inlet nut. Pressure should be 40-47psi, if high regulator is bad. when you changed fuel pump did you get whole fuel pump module or just fuel pump?
ecfool, yeah i looked aftermarket and couldnt find one. that part # you provided i looked up on napa's site and im not sure what it is but its not a damper. the CVT damper looks just like and bolts to the same location as the MT FPR it just doesnt have a return fuel line on it.
ecfool, according to the dealer it was bad and causing the issues. i replaced the entire fuel pump assembly, but even with the new unit i didnt see any regulator in there. there is the reserve canister, then the filter sock, then the pump, then the after filter and then the lid plus the level sensor on the outside, but no regulator to speak of?????? im guessing the pressure is computer controlled by upping or lowering voltage to the pump and the damper helps to keep pressure in check without getting too high. but that is purely an assumption only.

It is the NAPA part number I speced in earlier thread. pressure is NOT controlled by pump voltage. unless the diapraghm has burst on your pulse damper and allowing fuel to pass into the vacuum port I very seriously dont think that the damper is the problem. You really need to verify fuel pressure before throwing parts at it.

ok, good to know and i guess im gonna need to do that. do you know if NAPA sells a banjo bolt modified with fuel port so i can check my pressure?

Your the man ecfool. I just tore the fuel pump assembly appart and your absolutely right. There is an odd lil regulator in here just like that one you found at napa. Im gonna go grab it and try it out. Thank you for your help. I never would have realized that one
well, while the napa unit appears virtually identical and does fit it unfortunately does not operate at the same pressure as the insight spec apparently as my car barely runs with that unit installed. i thought it was bad before but now its god awful. it was worth a shot but no go. im gonna rig something up like willie recommended to test the pressure for sure myself and if its what im expecting just order a new pump from honda that comes with a new FPR already installed.
