Exclamation Have you ever experienced... CVT in neutral issue...

Hi all,

Just had an interesting thing happen to me twice this last week. I drive about 15 miles to a buddy's place to either pick him up, or park and jump in his truck to carpool to work. It's been pretty cold here in Hampton Roads. Now, twice this week Ive left my car in his lot, come back in the evening and headed home. Here's the odd bit:
I start the car, put it into reverse and start backing out of the spot. It's been my habit to get her going, then slip the CVT into neutral so I coast back in neutral. The lot is on a slight decline, so I normally roll back 15-20ft, apply the brake if I don't come to a complete stop at the leveling off, then shift into drive and pull away. However, both times this week, while rolling back in neutral, I've felt something like the brakes grabbing or the CVT trying to slip back into drive briefly!

Now, I'm trying not to freak out. In the meantime I'm not doing the backwards coast, especially when it's cold. Is it possible for the transmission to not REALLY be all the way in neutral? I haven't had the E brake on either time.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your thoughts!!!

John
