Default Rattles

Our Insight EX has 5600 miles on it and I'm starting to notice rattles over small bumps. It's hard to tell exactly where they are coming from but it sounds like the rear -near the B-pillar or the rear windows. over smooth roads the car is rock solid and quiet but even slight bumps are making some rattles that I didn't notice when the car was new. It has me concerned for the pothole season coming up in a few months.

Anyone else noticing this?

I have noticed a couple of rattles, but they are on the front passenger side. I have not been able to track them down yet. Really is making me worry about the quality of this car as my past Honda's did not have any rattles after many years.

our 2003 CR-V with 72k miles and the 1999 Civic with 97k miles on it didn't really have any rattles. Rattles in a 5600 mile old car are worrisome.

My Insight has a rattle in the B-pillar on the passenger side. It is very faint and I can't hear it if I am in the driver's seat.

I hear rattling from somewhere on the passenger side, and something in the rear rattles if I go over a really bad bump. However, I have yet to determine if these rattles are coming from the car itself, or objects I put in the car, lol
My 98 CRV rattled. I would just bang on things and then it would stop

I found that the passenger side rear seat back is a source of rattles. The problem appears to be in the shoulder belt retraction mechanism. If you have rattles that are coming from the back of the car, drive with the passenger side rear back in the down position. If the noise goes away, it is the seat back that is generating the noise.

Seat belts banging aginst the bulkhead!
Attach all the seat belts as if there were passengers on board. If the noise goes away......
Had that happen on my Insight I right after I bought it, Definate bangine on the passenger side. Drove me crazy for many miles. Didn't hear the rattle when a passenger was on board.

So far pretty quiet on mine with 9K on it. Occasionally I hear something on the passenger side but it is not consistent. Also, my license plate rattles in the back occasionally becuase it only has two screws attached.

Also, put the windows halfway down and go over a few bumps, they rattle like crazy, so its it up, down 1/2 inch, or down all the way with the windows.

Other than that, I'd say the car is pretty quiet under normal operations.
