Question Auto stop doesn't stay stopped

Do any of you have this problem with the auto stop at a stop light?

2010 Honda Insight long term test drive - November 2009 - 2010 Honda Insight

Also, what are the weather conditions outside if you do? How hot or cold was it when you noticed? Was it raining or snowing?

I have noticed that when it's rainy or humid outside and I have the A/C on, my auto stop doesn't keep the engine off for more than a few seconds.

Yes, I have come across this too, more often in winter But! The music was really loud, the battery was only 3 lines full (midlle) and the air fan was working at low speeds.
Without all the prementioned parafernalia and the battery morew than 1/2, the engine stays off for as long as I am there waiting.
In the article that you are mentioning they do not say clearly what other switches/apparatuses were on in the car. I reckon battery was somewhat out of charge and could not support the power demand.

Already tons of discussions of the AutoStop restart problem of the Gen 2 Insight located here:

Auto stop - permanent restart after 12 sec's

It has been an ongoing topic for awhile now...

My battery is usually around the 90% mark. I always do long coasts to constantly keep my battery charged when I come to the stop light. I try to max out the charge without pressing the brake too hard. I always plan my stops perfectly. I'm hoping that a set of brakes should last a very, very long time in this car doing this by letting the hybrid generator do all of the braking for me.

When my wife drives the car, the MPG drops because she doesn't drive the car like a hybrid and treats it like a regular car. She's not into tech and doesn't think about the technology used to make this car save so much fuel.

I wish I could take it on a 200-400 mile trip to really see the MPG shine. The longest distance I ever go is almost 30-40 miles, but mostly in bad traffic. It would be nice to travel that distance over a few hundred miles with no lights or stop signs just to see if I can really get well over 50 MPG at the pump (not the MID).
