Default Wiper noise

I noticed this on my way home this evening. When the wipers are on, a sound comes from the dash in time with the wipers. It sounds like the blinker noise, but much softer. Anyone else experience this? I usually have the radio on, so I have no idea how long this has been going on.

I occasionally hear my blades squeak a little, if there is not much water, but that's about it for wiper noises.

I believe it's a relay for the wipers. It is something that I have never heard when using the wipers on any other car I have ever driven in my life. When the rain is heavy I can't hear it, during light rain it becomes annoying if I don't have any music on. The sound appears to be coming from the left side of the dash in front of the driver.

It is normal, but Honda really should fix it in the future by either changing the relay, relocate it, or provide more sound isolation in that area.

I believe this topic was covered in a previous thread.

Most cars I've driven have this noise (clicking of the relay). I think it's because manufacturers decide to put sensitive-ish electronics in/under the dashboard instead of under the hood. I drove a Ford Sierra once and the relay was under the hood. Really quiet, but also really broken at one point.
