Default High pitched tone

Over the last few days I've noticed a high pitched tone in the interior of my car. It is so high pitched, it is barely perceptible. It sounds like one of those mosquito ring tones. I'm not sure where it's coming from and it is only intermittent. It happens when the car is on, but it's not from the engine because if the engine auto stops, you can still hear it sometimes. It's not from the a/c fans or the radio because if I turn them off, I can still hear it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

...one of the few times I guess I'm thankful to have tinnitus. On the bright side, the noise stops when you leave the car :P
