Default How to deal w/ paint chips?

I've found three places on my car's paint that look like small chips but I'm not sure. They're white-looking and you can feel a difference in texture. But they are not in places you would expect for chips, e.g., back right passenger door - no one has been there. I resisted the temptation to scratch it off w/ my fingernail (like I have with yellow bug juice residue) but the tiny white spots remain.

I actually noticed the spots on the last car wash about a month ago and they haven't gotten any bigger. But I'd like to touch them up. What works best? Do I go with Honda touch up paint or some other process?

My experience with touch up paint on previous cars has not been positive (e.g., paint globs and the touch up is obvious).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Id clean the area with an alcohol wipe then use a drop of touch up paint.

Myself, I have a chip right below the middle of the turn signal reflector on the bumper on both side in the rear.

Then I got a ding at each corner. One guy said that was the impression left after the arm picked the car out of the cargo hold of the ship it arrived on. Then I got a few dings on the roof.

I haven't used any touch up paint on this car yet (knock on wood) but in the past I've used touch up paint very sparingly and the result wasn't too bad after a few layers. This how-to suggests using ultra-fine grain sandpaper as well, but I haven't done that myself.

On my brother's car, the touch up ended up being a little more obvious, but it was better than the alternatives which were a) leave the chip alone or b) pay someone else to do it

I'd prefer to leave them alone but then there's the risk of the chips getting bigger, rusting, etc. Given my experience w/ touch up paint globbing up, I'd rather pay someone to do it. Probably not worth it.

Get a women who paints her nails. Better to use too little than too much.

I was just outside waxing my Insight. I have owned it for about 5 months and found what looked like hard water deposits but on closer inspection it is the paint chipping in radial patterns. They are all over the front hood of my car. I can't believe how poor of a paint job Honda has.
