Default brake dust???

so i wash my car once a week and everytime i wash it i find black dots ( i think its grece )all over the sides and theyre hard to remove
at first i thout it was the tire shine (armored all ) i would put on my wheels so i chaged it to black magic
but the problem didnt go away
so from gel i changed to foam
and i still gt the problem

my friend said its probl brake dust and i cant fix that

is there such a thing as brake dust???

Yes. You will notice the front rims get 'dirty' from the disc brakes being exposed. The rear generates dust too, but it is mostly contained by the drums. This is a normal part of the way brakes work (that is why you have to replace the pads/shoes). Brake dust should wash off very easily. I've not noticed any brake dust on the sides of my I2. You might try not using any tire-shine product as a test. You may also be getting tar/loose asphalt kicked up from the road. Do you have the mud-guards?

brake dust is basically asbestos. dont breathe it in.

i dont have Splash Guards
the ones for the insight look too tiny i think they wont really help
does anybody recomend them??

i have the mud guards.. came on mine from the dealer.. i dont have any brake dust or anything like you describe on mine.. in fact i live on a gravel road and i dont have any dirt or mud splash up even with the tiny mudguards.. i do get a lot of bird poop and pollen.. i dunno what it is.. never had a car get attacked so much.. im driving a hybrid you damn birds.. trying to save the planet.. dont attack my I2.. hehe

are the splash guards easy to install??
i can get them installed at the dealer for 100 plus tax
or i can get them at ebay for 70 but i have to install them

i dont know how to install them
any advise or diagrams anybody???
