OK.
Since I bought the car, the service reminder was counting days left for taking it to the garage to be serviced. Not km, not oil life, but days.
I took it for the 1st oil change @ 10 thousand km and after the service I sat down to reset the meters (service reminder). Key in ON position, service reminder in the MID, pressed CLEAR and I was offer the option to reset meter. Yes. Then another screen flared up asking me to reset the meter counting km backwards to service? I was shocked! From what I read in this forum and from what my manual says, there is not an option to chose between them both! It is either days left for service fro the european I2 or oil life for the american one. Not km left to service! Anyways, I also reset that meter and exit the option menu. The reminder went back to counting days left for service.
This was a month ago.
TODAY, out of a sudden, I notice that the MID counts KM left to service!!! I did not do anything myself, did not alter something, did not press some sort of secret button combination. Bizarre!
Anybody knows, anybody, how do we turn this extravaganza back to normal days left to service?
Quite frustrated, to tell you the truth...
Any ideas?
Sounds like the Eu one has a different MID. The Us one counts down in oil life % then when it gets to 15 or so the wrench shows up. If you ignore it you get miles past due for service. Maybe an Eu owner can chime in?

I talked to some friends while away on vacation, one of them owner of a 2009Honda Jazz (Fit for the US). He observed the same thing but there is a very good explanation after all.
The car, if you do not do extensive mileage every day, will stay in counting days left to service.
However (and this applies to my past month mileage) if you do more than a 150 km a day (roughly 100 miles) the computer will switch to km left to service as this is more accurate and convenient than counting days backwards.
What is more, this "detail" was clearly stated in my friend's (also owner of a 2009 I2) manual but it is absent in mine. In addition to this, my I2 "rich" edition came with headlights' sprinklers but were absent from my friends' also "rich edition" bought just a month before mine. And to make things worse, my headlights automatically adjust to the road but my friend's car you have to do it manually using the up and down cursor left from the steering collumn.
What on earth?
Someone said that some of the I2 cars sold in Greece are the model sold also in Germany, some are just a plainer model...
Welcome dear Nikos to our forum. I also speak Greece very best.
Yes, quite right there. You will have to change your brake fluid at 120 DAYS, cause that is what the sun/star implies. If you were driving the car more (more mileage per day) the MID would have counted back in km.
Anyway, yes to the other question as well. Me myself have not found how to overide this message to see how much time is elaqpsed for an oil change. But to my previous experience, it is anything close to that (12-15K km).
So do not worry. If the oil change is to happen sooner, the MID will let you know. Also remember the thread with DrBig as with the oil change intervals.
