4000 miles on my 2010 Insight and my ECM will be replaced

So I drove my I2 this morning and it gave me the check charging system message. Then, by lunch time I still got the same message plus check transmission, check emission and check IMA. I'm like, what's going on? So I decided to bring it in to the dealership to have it checked. Then, they told me they need to replace the ECM because its not communicating.

Honestly, I'm quite disappointed. Does anyone here have experienced the same thing? What does this really mean? The service adviser seemed to not know a lot about it. Thanks for your help.

I really love my Honda Insight but this really blows.

I'd check some of the battery related issues that have recent updates in this troubleshooting forum. They seem to have similar symptoms to those you describe.

a problem shared is a problem ... shared!

A new ECU seems a bit extreme. Is there a pattern emerging here with several forum members experiencing similar symptoms ... do I detect a recall coming on!!

my fingers are crossed as I approach the 4000 mile mark.
