Default Phone problems

I have just purchased a 2010 Insight EXT with sat nav. I am having problems finding a compatible phone as all the ones indicated on the Honda website are American ( I am in the UK). Can anyone advise please

This could very well be the wrong answer, but wouldn't it probably be the same phones? Just the U.K. versions?

Hi Mikex. You must have one of the first EX's in the UK. I wish I had held off for a month or so and got one instead of my ES-T which was top of the range when I bought in mid August

As far as the phone goes, I use an iPhone 4 which works fine in all ways. The Bluetooth streaming is awesome and still freaks me out!

I've also used a Nokia N97 and iPhone 3GS successfully.

Have you tried checking on Honda Handsfree ?? It has a wizard to give you an answer on compatibility although it seems a bit cautious as they don't list the iphone 4 as compatible yet and the N97 is listed as incompatible and yet they both work fine for me.

By the way my results are with the SSD sat nav that comeswith an ES-T

I've a question for you - my main peeve with the ES-T satnav was that they dropped steering wheel mounted buttons to answer the phone - does the EX-T have these buttons?

cheers

Hi bubblebuzz
First of all sorry for misleading you, I have a EST not n EX.
I looked on Honda Handsfree and it showed the Nokia's as not compatible. Ill make some inquiries about the N97.
Regarding the steering wheel buttons, they are on mine
Thanks for your help
Mike ( a novice Honda owner)

No way of knowing as I searched all UK phone dealers and none of the ones on the Honda website came up

Mike, I'm intrigued.
You say you have the steering wheel buttons? Do you know if you have a 2011 model or is it a 2010 model from dealer stock? Did you get the optional DVD sat nav with the 40GB hard disk drive or was it the standard CD Sat Nav called "SSD" (for Solid State Disk)

I'd really appreciate it if you could post here or email me a photo of your dash board area to show the type of sat nav and the steering wheel buttons that are fitted. As you may have read elsewhere in the forum I have a running battle (aka support call) with Honda on whether the system in my ES-T can really be called "handsfree".

I'll PM you my email address.
thanks in advance
