Default whats the vent under the hood for?

i opend thehood and the this vent kind of dirty and the part of the hood that covers that was really dirty
i rained 4 days ago....

idk what this vent is for but im guessing to throw air to the tube next to it??

intake air. You should keep it clean. If it's dirty, you should check the enging air filter.

Yeah, ^^^^^ What he said. Its Hondas version of a cai. That tube thing and hte black box next to it is what you need to replace if you want to install a cai. The box is where the air filter hides and cleans the air as it enters the engine.

Yup, Just keep it unclogged but if you notice dust and dirt around it keep it clean more often and you may want to change your filter often also because of the extra debris.

ditto .. i just vacuum'ed mine (and the filter too) ... i wish k&n made a cold air intake to replace the whole kit and kaboodle

Wow you must drive through a lot of dirty roads, I've looked at mine and even after rain it's never dirty like that.. Oh btw if you change that air intake filter I'd also look at your interior one also, it's behind the glove box. They should be both changed at the same time....

I will probably support the opposite view. I change the cabin filtre at every service (black as hell, might start changing it myself every 3-4 months instead) whilst the engine air filtre every 2nd or 3rd service.

how do you get to the cabin air filter?
do you have to undo the screws in the glovebox?
