Is this with the car running or key in accessory? What about key turned to on, but no engine running?

Off hand Ive seen head units cut off like that when the voltage regulartor for the alternator go bad and the electrical system is pushing 16 volts or more.

its with both key turned to on and engine running. i suspect its a bad fuse behind the headunit.

Do you think it's a fuse if the music plays about 10 seconds then shuts off?

A fuse is designed to allow current flow until it's limit is exceeded, and then it blows, cutting off current forever. It can never flow again.

If you have a unit that will play for 10 seconds and stop, then next time it plays for another 10 seconds and stop, that goes against the design of a fuse.

It sounds like something is overheating. Heat is a resistance and when the resistance is too high, there is no current flow. When the unit shuts down and cools off, the resistance tapers off allowing current flow again.

First make sure your power and grounds are solid. Make sure the unit is properly ventilated. Make sure your speaker ratings and hook up are correct and solid.

It sounds more like a power circuit than an amp circuit. I'd try another power source just to make sure.
