Loading the car makes a huge difference in my experience too. Finally had 3 adult passengers and I was amazed at the transformation - handling and ride seemed so much more settled. To me this is just the nature of this vehicle; it's prone to quirkiness but at its core is in fact a non-quirky assuredness & direct utility that makes the Insight, contrary to what many "experts" write, one of the best buys in autos right now.

Off to play with tire pressures .

Default Highway Steering

I find the Insight to have absolutely no play in the steering, at first I didn't like it but now I look forward to driving it for my daily commute. I just twitch less now.
P.S. I am running 50psi all around. It took me 2 months to get used to the harder ride but am liking it too.

Some people are gluttons for punishment. That said, I do run the pressures up a little. About 38 i think. But having just done a short (500 mile) trip I did find the new Michelin tires made a world of difference in the handling.

I just think the steering is "busy", probably because of short wheel base and undersized tires.

I had the same thing... It was traced to the rear wheel alignment being out. Once corrected it's straight as an arrow. Interestingly both rears were out by exactly the same amount!

Heavy winds can prove interesting (especially with a roofbox), but no different to other small cars.

James, did they shim it? Was it lowered? Strange why both rears would be off, unless you jumped something in it?
