Default Replacing tail light unit?

Hi all - I recently cracked my driver side rear tail light and need to replace it. I purchase a new tail light unit from Honda and planned to install it myself... until I opened the trunk expecting to see a traditional panel where you can get to the tail light and there isn't a clear pathway in! I don't know a ton about cars (so why is she attempting to do this herself you ask?) but I was told it wouldn't be very difficult. I'm sure there is a panel or something I'm missing. I just don't want to go around breaking things in the trunk! Anyone know how to access the tail light? Thank you!

OK nevermind, shortly after I posted this I found in the manual how to access the tail light. Sort of what I figured, but just wanted to be sure!

Here's an online manual if anyone is interested. Tail light information starts on page 365.

Yupper. Anyone reason you didnt try to find a used one online? There are a few vendors on ebay that sell junkyard parts.

Yup, got to pop off that plastic piece once the trunk is opened. Then undo the screws and pop the lamp out. Then you got the connectors and access to the user replacable bulbs.

The crack in the tail light happened just a month or two after I bought it and where I live I have only seen a couple other 2010s on the road. I didn't want to waste time searching for a used one so bought one through the online dealer, Bernardi Honda and got a pretty good price. My local dealer qupoted me over $200 more just for the part! Such a rip off...
