Have some qs about my stock IN2 CD/USB flash drive HU player...
1. Does the USB player have a max. limit on flash drive size it detects? I tried plugging in a 4GB flash drive - my MP3 files played instantly. However, when I plugged in a 16GB drive, it wasn't recognized.
I have a 32gb flash drive and it works just fine. I only have about 8gb or so worth of music, so don't know if it would make a difference if I had more.
I have an EX with navi, and have never had problems with the USB.
OTOH, I did load up a big PCMCIA card for the memory card slot behind the screen, and that seemed to bog the system down. It was really slow for info to show up on the screen. Touch controls were almost unresponsive.
i'm going to try out a neat project this weekend by collecting different flashdrives from different OEMs and test 'em out 1 by 1. I still don't get why one particular 16GB drive of mine doesn't seem to work w/the stock player.
oh, has anyone confirmed if the IN2 will work w/the new breed of USB 3.0 flashdrives?
Some flash drives use a proprietary software to manage content - reformat it using windows and I bet it will work.
I got a 64 Gig flash and at first it didn't work - reformat and wah-la!
I use a 16Gb Flash Drive. One issue I have noticed is that if I add music to my existing drive I encounter problems with the system not recognizing the drive. To get around this I now format my drive and add all of my music including the new tracks in one operation whenever I need to add new music. This takes a little longer but always works.
