Default 2010 Insight Sticky Hatchback

I'm not sure, why, but sometimes, the hatchback won't open.
it's not the locks, i can hear them unlatching and it's not the release,
i trip that and hear it retract but the hatch won't open....

Anyone got a suggestion?

sometimes you have to hit the auto door lock release on the key fob an extra time

What is the condition of the rubber seals all around the hatchback?
I would try some silicon lube and see...

i was thinking a mechanical problem too - also check for binding in the hinge mechanism and maybe put a little lithium grease around the latch if it's not functioning properly

Use spray silicone. its also good for cvc boots too.

I spray some on a rag, then wipe the gaskets of all my doors.
