USB interface question for 2011 EX

Hey guys, I recently bought a 2011 EX and am quite happy with it so far.

So the owner's manual says that if you remove a USB drive and then plug it back in, it should start playing where it left off. However; I do not see that happening. I took out one USB drive, then plugged another one, then plugged the old one back in. Both the drives started at the first song, and not from where I pulled out the USB drive. Is this a problem? or am I interpreting the owner's manual incorrectly?
