Unhappy XM kit and USB

I've got a 2010 Honda Insight with Navi

Honda put in their XM Radio, and now the USB attachment in the armrest doesn't work.

They said i can't have both XM and USB, that the plug-in behind the navi piece is limited to one or the other.

Is this correct?

If this is true it's the first I've heard of it. This thread at greenhybrid.com discusses the same problem and it looks like the dealer might have messed up the connection. (look for bobrien26 about half way down)

I went with a portable setup hooked up through the aux port for my XM so I can't speak directly to the issue.

wjpm,

That is a bunch of baloney. I have XM, Navigation, etc., The USB in the arm rest works just fine. Somebody is pulling your leg or has NO IDEA what they are talking about.

Maybe they don't want to fix it properly or they installed the XM incorrectly?

My research showed that they did not installed a Y-clip to combine the two cables into the one outlet.

And, of course, they can't find it... And not acknowledging they missed it.

wjpm,

Well I would complain to anybody/everybody I had to until it was installed correctly. Maybe even get in touch with the Honda Customer Service District Representative.

And doesn't it say FM1, FM2, AM1, XM1, XM2, CD, Card, and USB when you cycle through the modes?

Just keep saying that this is unacceptable and you need to speak to their higher up. Don't budge. This is the sort of thing that the higher ups at Honda doesn't like to hear and they'll take care of it.

I'm happy to report that after approaching them with info, plus even the part number of the Y extension, they fixed it quickly and kindly. Thanks all
