Help! Those pesky rubber strips along the roof... Glue to hold them on?

So I have seen other threads talking about the rubber strips on the roof, the ones that run along the top of the car... that come off in the automatic car washes. I lost one of the metal pieces that attached the strip to the hook in the groove and now I'm looking for a good glue to just glue the whole strip down! I give up with the stupid metal hook attachment on just the ends.

Any idea what adhesive I could use to bond the rubber to the painted metal?

Id recommend weather strip adhesive.
