Default CHK Emmisions and CHK VSA Light

I brought my car in for an oil change at Valveoline. During the change the Check Emissions warning came on the user display. A short while later, also during the oil change, the Check VSA light came on.

I have shut off the car and started it back on a few times. Drove the car home about 5 miles, turned it off and on again. Its not looking like it is going to fix itself.

During the oil change I had the key clicked to the run position, but not started. I had Oil and both filters changed out. The Emission warning happened while the tech was under the hood. The VSA cam on when I re-started the car and the end to check oil pressure.

Where should I start?

Put new tires on about 4 months ago (light has never come on prior to this). Not same size, but approved by honda according to discount tires (slightly bigger tire in order to get a better quality tire).

Default Good Job Honda!

I called the Honda Dealer in Hopkins MN and they walked me through a few things to check.

Turns out the VSA will come on any time the Check engine light is on, told me not to worry about that one.

I found the electrical plug on top of the air filter housing did not get re-connected. The Service guy at Honda let me know that it will take a few days of driving for the system to clear itself after the fault popped up. He also said the VSA Warning will come and go over the next few days.

Hopefully your Honda dealer is as good as mine. They started helping me without even asking for my name, and if I purchased the car there (which I did).

Josh

Disconnect the battery, and the code will go away.
