I have noticed this strange behavior that only occurs at highway speeds, 70mph+. I hear this weird squealing noise coming from the front end, it sounds almost like a turkey or a turkey call box. It *seems* like it happens when there is a strong wind draft. It's concerning me a little bit because I am taking a trip up to NY in the spring in the Insight. Has anybody had this problem before?
The big clue that I'm catching in your thread is "it happens when there is a strong wind draft". I'm guessing this is related to a panel being loose somewhere under the car or around a wheel well, as the air passing over the panel increases it is causing the loose panel to osolate (vibrate) thus causing your turkey call box sound.
Had a buddy with a Honda Accord that had a strange noise that only occured when he drove in a westerly direction. Rode with him for a few miles and after several turns and being baffeled had him retract his antenna back into the windshield post and the sound completely went away. (was an 80's Accord)
Not saying it is wind related for certain but that is my guess based on experiance. Jack up the car and look for missing panel fasteners or panels that could possibly vibrate in the wind.
Well, one of the body shops that called me and later turned the job down swore to me the car had aluminum body panels and how expensive they were to fix and weld. I told him the pervious shop was going to replace and paint.

Like I said, goobers. I had a bunch of those repair my truck years ago and tried to get way with(actually did) shim the bent frame with big washers. After multiple complaints I got a junkyard frame.
