I recently purchased a Honda CD changer on eBay ($217). Since it came with the interface cable, I didn't want to put out another $120 for the install kit. After reading the dealer install procedure [see Honda's instructions] the light dawned. I simply carved out a "nest" within the foam filler block originally located in the CD changer area (photo 1). I then simply reinstalled the foam block with the nested CD changer back in its own location (photo 2). I did take the precaution of screwing some 3" drywall screws into those areas that were thinned by the cutout and also smoothed the cutout lip with black vinyl tape. While many/most who op for the Honda CD changer will also buy the mounting kit, this procedure may be more viable for those buying non-Honda changers. Cheers- Phil Stewart
