I heard of a couple instances where owners lost one of their fender skirts. When removing mine, I noticed the fastener had no retainer to keep it with the skirt, they just fall off when loosened. So I used a 1/4" internal star washer on the stud inside the skirt to hold it in place should it vibrate loose. Next I drilled a 1/8" hole adjacent to each stud with skirt removed and once installed, I added an 1/8" plastic tiewrap, black of course, the tiewrap will hold the skirt on if the fastener fails and comes loose or is not reinstalled correctly. There is little cost involved and hopes it helps someone. I feel more comfortable with mine modified.
