Default 2000 Insight MT 231k mi only $600!!!

Anyone interested in a parts car with a good 5 speed transmission (told it was good by po) and 4 like new Yokohama tires? Had 8 phone calls and no takers and I want it gone so I can get to the next hoopty. I'd take $600 to see it go bye bye. Clear title in hand.

Pretty shocked nobody here wanted a complete Insight for $600.
Car is sold. $795. Sold on eBay.

Haha, I think I saw your CL ad for this one. Congrats on selling it on ebay.

How much does ebay charge for selling a car, if you don't mind sharing?

I did get myself a $400 "parts" car just a couple days ago. It is quite dirty, but is actually still drivable.

It seems we still haven't hit bottom for these vehicles yet, but it's hard to imagine they'd go any lower, and I'm sure the absolute bottom is nigh in the coming months.

I believe there are 2-3 rates that eBay charges. They charged me $50 insertion fee and $18 to run it for 10 days but no sales fee. $68 total. I just recently got smoked $90 by eBay for sale of a car to a deadbeat buyer. I complained and you are allowed 1 freebie so I got a refund but all deadbeat buyer sales fees are at the expense of the seller. On small items I sell their fees can approach 25% so they ain't cheap but they are hard to live without.

25% on small items? mmm, not that i know of. even my smaller items are 7-10% then about 3% for paypal. nothing is ever over 15%. if you're eating shipping costs, then that's a different matter.

when selling big items on ebay, require a nonrefundable deposit. that will kill the deadbeats, and even if you get one, the deposit will pay for your fees and then some for the hassle. if they try to chargeback, use the nonrefundable deposit link to your auction. paypal generally looks for goods exhanged and delivered, they generally overlook binding agreements such as deposits, so you have to show proof of what the charge was for.
