Nearly 2 years old, and NiMH will never get cheaper by any significant amount. It's a fully matured, declining technology with no significant technological gains for 15 years.

11 2170 cells equal to an insight battery pack? What math are you using?

11* 3.7V * 6Ah = 244Wh (assuming the high end of 6Ah, which is probably optimistic)

120 1.2V * 6.5Ah = 936Wh


936 / 244 * 11 = 42 cells; not 11.

Given that 1 Lithium cell is almost exactly 3X NiMH cells voltage-wise, it makes sense that it would take 1/3 as many cells.
