Default G2 consumption per hour (while idling)?

Anybody know?

My estimate is 1/4 gallon per hour.

That's roughly correct. Most small 4-cylinder engines are between 0.25 and 0.30 gallons per hour, depending on what sort of load you have on it.

Install a "flow meter" for a valid test.

I checked with my UltraGauge.
Once warmed up it is about 0.6 l/h in neutral, that would be less than 0.2 gallon per hour. It is somewhat more in D, but knowing that it seldom idles for long in D

It shouldn't be too much more, since the CVT has a clutch. There's no torque-converter that is constantly slipping and absorbing energy.

So for a 10 min warm up on a cold day, let's say .3 gal / hour when cold.

10 min * .3 gal / hour * 1 hour / 60 min * $2.20 / gal = $0.11

Knowing us Insight owners as well as I do, I would venture to say that $.11 is too much to bear. Drive it cold!
