Default Mice chewing wiring harness twice!

Have 2019 Honda Insight. Mice chewed wiring harness twice in the last 3 weeks, despite peppermint oil, pepper spray, and baited traps (although these were in trunkówrong place.) I read somewhere that Honda changed wiring coating in 2019 models- is that true?

If they are chewing wires in the engine compartment, leave the hood open about 4 " at night. That is what i have to do in my "country" area. Works real good.
Honda also makes a "rodent" tape available, as they had recalls years ago about the same problem.

They got to my car a few years ago, chewed through fuel pump wires and built a nest on top of it, how it didn't catch fire I will never know.
