Why would it be perverse to replace the bodywork of a rolled Prius with that of a dead Firebird?
When that Firebird never had the performance the Prius has?
Todays hybrids do beat the muscle cars of 50 years ago, at least some of them.

I know some put muscle cars in one category and hybrids in another with a Taboo sign on it. But that is their choice.
