I'm on the (long?) road to recovery from my stroke. I feel great, but then again, I never even had a headache during the stroke. My blood pressure is gradually coming down, and I've been doing exercises at home to regain mobility, and eventually, strength.
My right bicep does nothing,I can't tense it, and still have very little control over my forearm. The muscles in my leg are much the same. I bought an adjustable tension hand exerciser, set it at 20 pounds, and I use it several times a day. It's tough, but I want my right hand back.
Now here's the thing... I can truly say that the hardest thing I've ever tried to do, physically, is straighten my fingers. I can almost do it, but not quite. I can work at it till my arm trembles. Damn, how can something so simple be so impossible?
Brain damage is tough.
