Default Basic Android calender

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a good basic Android Calendar. Something that doesn't need to be synced all the time and works well off line.

The stock Google one works fine off line. Any changes you make are stored locally. Sets recurring reminders, alarms, etc.

I second the basic google calendar on the android. Syncing is not necessary when saving to the local phone calendar.

I wished it showed the days date, vs 31 as an app. At least apple got that right.

Maybe they changed that with lollipop?

Google calender requires at least an initial sync to start the account...
I'm looking for something that makes uncle Google (or anyone else) keep their hands off.

Any other ideas?
