Default Just bought an I-Miev

Just replaced my 2002 Celica with a 2012 Mitsu I-MIEV EV.

So thats The I2 as my wife's main car, and the I-Miev as mine/ second car.

It had 11K miles and Keiko trim, and a whole raft of other spec. For those in the know, range is about 70 miles on a charge, but it has domestic AC and fast DC ports, allowing an 80% charge in 30 mins.

First impressions are very positive, it has the smallest battery pack of all the EVs, but not the lightest, thus the pack isn't very charge dense by 2016 standards, but the cells are reliable, and there haven't been the failures reported on these as there have with the Leaf's.

This is an experimental purchase to test out an EV, but at the moment I am hugely impressed.

16KwH pack, compared to the Tesla model S which has anything between 65 and 90Kwh.

The leaf is 24 or 30 as an option.

Power delivery is 100% smooth, and I calculated a 170mpg equivalent on cost based on UK fuel prices.

Any other I-Miev owners on the forum?

Celica to an miev? Quite the change .

IIRC the later mievs have a lithium titanate battery... yes it's lower density, but the cycle life is insane.

Near little car, enjoy!

Still not sold the Celica yet, but the driving I do in London is about 50m a week, and all short journeys. The benefits of an EV in a city far outweigh those of IC these days.

Only the JDM ones with a 10KWh cell purely designed for multiple quick charges per day had those. All the foreign domestic market cars have 16KWh Li-ion, but they are good stock, I think there are 88 x LEV50 cells. From mid 2012, they went to LEV50N
