Cobb, I really loved my Element. It was the first "thing" I bought when I joined the Army, and it was a great utilitarian vehicle. At that time, I was only driving about 16 miles a day, so mileage was never an issue. Now that I'm a civilian, my commute has gone to over a 80 miles a day, and as much as I loved my Element, the money I was spending on gas was killing me.
Now that I've had the car for a bit, I can say that I really enjoy it. It's not as nice as my wife's 2013 TDI Jetta, but for the price I paid, and how much money I'm saving, I honestly have no complaints. The only problem I've really had is that the car truly hates grooved pavement. Otherwise it's a very fun car to drive, and I enjoy the "challenge" of trying to get the most MPG on each trip.
