Cool Repainting the Insight

I was messing around in Photoshop and put together this:

I tinted the headlights and painted the wheels and grill cover black.

What do you guys think? Worth trying in real life? Any of you guys have modified Insights? I like the idea of mods that don't effect MPG.

Looking good! What'd you paint the wheels with? I'm considering plasti-dip.

Cobb, that looks like the color they repainted my car!

Maybe somebody liked the G2 color enough to throw it on a G1?

My paint is oem, tango red pearl.

Wheels, bumper cover painted with the dual paint that has primer and paint mixed in it. You can buy it at walmart. The lense tint paint was from advance auto. Maybe sure to use a clear coat on the lense coat or it will wash/wear off.

The later red gen 2 color is a more candy vs metallic. Mines shifts from a black cherry to maroon between direct sun and over cast.

Mod would definitely look good. With black car, investigate dark gray or "titanium" color wheels, like Cobb's. Have seen some around and they do look great!

Yeah I'd love to get new lightweight wheels, but I think my better half would kill me...

Plastidip seems like the cheap/removable alternative to hold me over.

Yeah, new wheels then you need to get new tpms sensors or swap over the old ones, then you got tires to deal with. Get new or use old. I lined up a seller to buy my old wheels when I got the new ones so it helped to offset the upgrade.

I like em, but I want to go a size or 2 bigger in tires next time. I went to 185 65 r 15.

Yeah, paint is a first start. I painted mines and my other car too.

I know about those better halves! They are a tough crowd.
