I don't know why the car won't start. After all, it's spark or fuel to make it run. He hasn't checked the spark yet.

I agree that the dash module is unlikely to kill the car, but apparently the car was running when he began the push button fix.

We need to know if there is spark.

No the big switch under the small, two bolt cover is just a switch. It is not a circuit breaker. The IMA battery has a fuse for protection.

If you have had the 12V disconnected at any time during this process, then you will have achieved a system reset which will have caused the state-of-charge gauge to go to zero. Normal. Running the car, as slocivic suggested will cause the battery to charge. Make sure your 12V is strong and charged.

The big switch in back also cuts OFF the IMA usage.

My wild guess is something in cluster popped a fuse either under dash or under hood. Unplug cluster, charge your 12v battery. Unplug bcm and switch ima off. Try to start. If nothing turn key to on then jump starter solenoid.

If nothing then see if you are getting 12v to injectors, check for spark. See if you hear the click of the main contactor when you cycle ignition.

Need more than it wont start. It cranks but doesnt fire or doesnt crank at all. Check all fuses and eliminate the problem that started the issue.

GOT IT !

After checking all pertinent fuses visually, and then for continuity a third time, and charging the 12v as SloCivic suggested (it was at 11.84v), in my exasperation while under the dash, I looked up and saw that on my "attempt" to drop the steering column, pulling down the lower column cover disconnected the green plug from the key IGNITION switch! Funny thing is that when the key was turned, the dash would light up, and occasionally the conventional starter would crank, but no ignition, and the IMA was kept out of the loop, as well.

Much appreciation and thanks to all who shared their knowledge and experience.
