Further issues with my sadly horrible insight. Code P1607 repeatedly pops up. If cleared car then immediately throws new codes never the same do a drive cycle or let it sit. Clears new code and returns back to the P1607. Furthermore running at average mpg of 29.5 to 35.4 if I'm lucky. Two months ago had all wiring harnesses replaced engine resealed. Tune up, and three months back a hybrid pack had also been added got two weeks of 54-62 mpg which was amazing. As I bought this car modified to run on a alternator no hybrid system no AC no power steering. Also that another problem the two week of great gas milage I actually got to experience power steering in this car really noticable in parking lots. Any ideas where to look or even a source for a new pcm as the code states the issue is a internal circuit issue with the pcm. All grounds new all wiring in the car has been swapped out . Basically only the computers in my insight hasn't been replaced or refurbished at this point. Most commonly the codes that randomly pop up are for o2 sensors or emissions. Also the car has developed a interessting surging issue randomly when cruising at steady speeds, slowing down by letting off the gas a little or even accelerating. Seem to fluter on the revs and it's always jumping between 1-2 k or 2-3k and so on. The whole car jerks when it does this and I lose speed to were it is impossible to maintain even close to speed limit. Ran quick diag on my trip to work to day car also stated short term fuel trim of -28 to -37 shifted in that range . Id love to keep the car but it's starting to get where in tired of fixing or replacing parts .
