I'm preparing to do my first oil change on my 2010 ex. While reading the threads about the Fumoto F-106N Engine Oil Drain Valves I was not clear if this was recommended for the I2's of just the I1s. In other words are the threads on the 2010's going to strip easily necessitating the fumoto?

Thanks for the help!

I think its universal between almost all hondas.

Me, I dont want to make it easy for oil to escape my oil pan and never installed one.

Thanks for the response and perspective! What did you do instead? I'd like to avoid stripping it...

Thanks again,

Does the I2 have a magnesium oil pan like ours? I don't know.

You don't have to worry about the Fumoto valve leaking or accidentally opening. It's an excellent device.

Thanks for the input.
One further clarifying question-
When I went to the honda dealer I talked to the parts guy he mentioned to make sure I had the long oil pan plug, they wanted $15 for the f***ing bolt which both the parts guy and I laughed at.

So my question to you all is:
1. is the longer plug adviseable?
2. What is the part # so I can avoid over paying.

Many thanks!
