I have a 2010 Insight I purchased used that now has 68000 miles and recently when washing the car noticed paint on the hood flaking off onto the sponge. Because the car was no longer in warranty (except for the IMA) I took it to a couple of independent body shops to see what the problem might be and to see about a solution. Everyone I showed the car to said the same thing...a bad paint job. Note the car color is white pearl which is a three part paint making touch-up virtually out of the question. It is obviously not stone chips as there is no dent or any indication that the paint chipped due to the hood being struch by anything. Has anyone else experienced paint issues with white pearl or any other colors? Anyone have any suggestions or advice (other than having the hood stripped and re-painted)?
