When buying a new 12 volt battery to start the insight, are their any cons to buying a 500 cold cranking amp battery vs a 330 cold cranking amp battery? (I believe the original equipment battery was around 330 cold cranking amps)

Please assume the physical size of the batteries are the same, and the price of each battery is the same.

Generally higher CCA means higher overall capacity, so it makes sense to pick higher CCA.

Given that the 12V does not usually see starting loads, CCA isn't that important. I would put more emphasis on capacity than CCA.

Honda's "unique" charging system also works better with higher capacity batteries as they tend to last longer.
