I am new here, and this is my first post. I have a 2000 Insight. A month ago I started having a problem with the DC to DC converter. It would not charge the house battery. After taking it into my Honda dealer here in Santa Cruz California, I was told they would have to replace the DC to DC converter and a couple of other boxes for a total cost of $5,700, and then another $2,200 if they needed to replace the traction battery. I believe what they really want to do is sell me a new car.
Does anyone on this list know of a person with Insight electrical experience in the San Francisco Bay area?

DC-DC can be had second-hand for very short money.

If you have CEL or IMA lights, it would be good to blink your codes, so you have an idea of what you're getting into:

Lastly, If no one has a Honda specific shop recommendation, while they're heavily focused on Toyota Prius, I suspect that Luscious Garage can help you out:
