I've had my Insight for about few months and it seems every 6weeks/1200 miles the battery pack drains extraordinarily fast just once then recharges through the usual effort and is perfectly fine for the next 6-8weeks.

Am I the only owner whose vehicle behaves as such?

(Its actually been 1200 miles and 4 weeks since my last random battery death... so we'll see if as predicted it will drain faster than normal one day)

That is recalibration, or recal. Search with that keyword, and you will find lots of information. Every 1200 miles is probably not too often, and you do not need to worry.

Try keeping your headlights on when you drive. Some of us find that it charges more aggressively with headlights on.

WOW. Talk about predictable, today, at 1323 miles after the last such occurance... drop in battery to zero - no hills, no pedal to the metal, im trying to preserve my 70.5mpg tank - seriously, has anyone run into this. While I've yet to be adversely affected is this a warning sign or just a normal battery cycle process?...
